CEMETERY PRESERVATION
The Historical Society maintains the Murphy Family Cemetery, the Herring-Hogge Cemetery, and the Decatur-Maxwell-Murphy Cemetery. Members repair and clean tombstones as well as collect research and photographs of people buried in the cemeteries.
Scout troops and local citizens help members clean, mow, and trim the grass and clip hedges on the grounds of the cemeteries. A number of scouts work on Eagle Scout Projects in the cemeteries.
